I’m so excited to have you and your family join me for fall photos this year! There’s just something so special about capturing your family during this beautiful season, and I’m so happy I get to be the one to do it!
My goal is always to make your session feel relaxed, fun, and full of genuine moments. Whether your little ones are all smiles or have a few silly moments along the way, I promise we’ll make some sweet memories together. I can’t wait to see you all!
I've put together a few helpful tips to make your session day as easy and stress-free as possible! Take a peek below so you know what to expect and can come ready to enjoy your time together!
A Little Something To Know Beforehand
Come Comfortable & Ready to Have Fun
We’ll be doing a little bit of walking, standing, snuggling, and possibly even sitting in the grass! If you’re wearing a dress or skirt, keep that in mind when choosing what to wear underneath. Comfortable shoes are always a good idea, too!
The Little Details
Before we get started, take a quick peek at everyone’s outfits. Empty those phones, keys, and wallets from pockets, check for hair ties on wrists, and make sure shoes are photo-ready. Those little things are easy to overlook when you’re getting everyone out the door!
Happy Bellies, Happy Kiddos
I always recommend making sure everyone has eaten before arriving, especially the little ones! Feel free to bring along a small, non-messy snack or a favorite comfort item if your kiddos might need a little encouragement along the way.
Please Don’t Stress About Perfect Smiles
This might be my biggest tip of all! Please don’t worry about reminding your kiddos to smile or behave perfectly before we even get started. I promise, I don’t expect perfection!
Some of my favorite images come from those genuine little moments in between. Let them be silly, let them snuggle, and let me worry about getting those sweet smiles.
Finding Me at Kensington Metropark
We’ll be meeting at Kensington Metropark for your fall photos!
I’ll share the general meeting area and parking location ahead of time so you know where you’re headed.
On the day of your session, I’ll also text you a direct location pin showing exactly where I’ll be set up within the park. Kensington is a pretty big place, so this will make finding me much easier!
Please plan to arrive about 5–10 minutes early so you have plenty of time to park, gather everyone, and make your way over without feeling rushed.
KENSINGTON
This is where we'll be meeting inside Kensington Metropark! I'll send you a direct location pin on the day of your session showing exactly where to find me within the field, so you won't have to worry about searching for the right spot!
From the Milford Road entrance:
Enter Kensington Metropark from Milford Road and follow the main park road toward Maple Beach. Continue onto Maple Beach Drive, then turn left onto High Ridge Drive. The field will be a short distance ahead at the marked location on the map.
From the I-96/Kensington Road entrance:
Take the Kensington Road exit and enter the park. Continue straight through the park entrance onto High Ridge Drive. Follow High Ridge Drive past Maple Beach Drive, and the field will be a short distance ahead at the marked location on the map.
During Your Session
We have 20 minutes together, and I promise we can capture so much in that time!
We'll start with those classic, posed family portraits. I like to call these my "grandparent shots" because they're the ones that end up framed on the mantel! We'll capture everyone together, individual portraits, and different family groupings.
Once we've gotten those beautiful, traditional portraits, we'll loosen things up a bit! This is where I love to capture the more natural, lifestyle moments. Think snuggles, giggles, walking together, and just enjoying your family.
Don't worry about knowing how to pose or what to do with your hands. I'll guide you through everything!
After Your Session
The fun doesn't stop when we finish taking photos!
Within two weeks of your session, you'll receive an online gallery where you can view your images and choose your favorites.
Your session includes 15 digital images of your choice, and if you fall in love with more than 20 (which happens!), you'll have the option to purchase additional images. Each additional image is $15.
